Abstract

The invention belongs to the technical field of network topology discovery and particularly relates to a method for recognizing and processing alias routers in topology discovery. The method comprises the steps that IP address sets are divided into the three classes of an alias relation, a potential alias relation and an undetermined set according to DNS and IP address information, wherein firstly, the definite alias relation is separated according to analysis on DNS information; secondly, in the process of processing the IP address set with the alias relation undetermined, IP addresses in a potential alias relation set are subjected to alias analysis in priority, if two IP addresses are in the alias relation, the two IP addresses are classified in the same address set, and any one of the two IP addresses serves as a set representative; if not, the two IP addresses are added into a non-alias relation address set. By carrying out alias analysis on the potential alias relation address set in priority, the IP address set in the alias relation can be found in a large probability relative to random detection, and the detection scale in the subsequent processing process can be reduced.
