Abstract

The invention provides a transmission method and device. The transmission method is applied to a first virtual extensible local area network tunnel end point VTEP in a virtual extensible local area network VXLAN. The method comprise the steps of determining a first encryption mechanism corresponding to a VXLAN tunnel between the first VTEP and a second VTEP according to a first encryption capability set of the first VTEP and a second encryption capability set of the second VTEP in the VXLAN; encrypting a first user data message to be sent to the second VTEP through adoption of the first encryption mechanism, thereby obtaining a first encryption message, and transmitting the first encryption message to the second VTEP through the established VXLAN tunnel; and receiving a second encryption message transmitted by the second VTEP through the established VXLAN tunnel, and decrypting the second encryption message through adoption of the first encryption mechanism, thereby obtaining a second user data message.
