The method comprises the steps of connecting, performing loading testing, and performing gear shifting. The method is realized through the following hardware systems: a driving motor, a to-be-tested transmission, a load motor, a load motor connecting device, a driving motor connecting device, a testing system, a control system and a driving motor clutch. After the to-be-tested transmission enters a to-be-tested station, the driving motor and the load motor are connected with the to-be-tested transmission. In a loading testing process, one motor performs rotating speed control and the other one performs torque control, and the testing system finishes testing on the to-be-tested transmission in the process. In a gear shifting process, a motor is driven for rotating in a gear shifting rotating speed; the driving motor clutch is disconnected; the rotating speed of a torque control motor is controlled and converted to a corresponding gear shifting rotating speed; and simultaneously the gear shifting system finishes gear shifting.
