The diagnosis method comprises steps that a fault diagnosis module diagnoses fault states of the current water temperature sensor according to a voltage value before the current water temperature sensor is filtered; when diagnosing that the voltage of the water temperature sensor is normal, the fault diagnosis model judges the current water temperature signal according to operation states of the current diesel engine, the water temperature signal after filtering and the engine oil temperature signal; and when the diagnosed water temperature signal is proper, the fault diagnosis model judges states of the current water temperature according to the operation states of the current diesel engine, the water temperature signal after filtering and the current diesel engine operation temperature states. According to the invention, based on the open circuit and short circuit detection of a water temperature sensor, the water temperature is further detected in a way of mutually verifying the water temperature and the engine oil temperature signal and dynamically verifying the water temperature, so the fault diagnosis of the water temperature sensor is quite comprehensive and precise.
