Embodiment Construction

[0051] refer to Figure 1A to Figure 1B, shows an embodiment of a window 100 fitted with a retaining device 102 . The window 100 includes at least one window panel 104 movably mounted to a window frame 106 . Preferably, the window panels are mounted to the window frame by hinges (at both corners between the window frame and the window panel) and at least one window panel 104 is arranged to pivotally move between a closed position 108 and an open position 110 .

[0052] In this embodiment, the retaining device 102 is mounted between at least one window panel 104 and a window frame 106, which in Figure 1B shown more clearly in . Preferably, the holding device 102 is installed close to the window hinge so as to provide additional auxiliary supporting force for the window hinge. Alternatively, the retaining device 102 may also be mounted anywhere along the gap 112 between the window panel 104 and the window frame 106 . Optionally, two or more retaining devices 102 may be ins...

Abstract

A system and a method of a retaining device for a window comprising: a linking member arranged to engage with a first window component and a second window component to link the first window component with the second window component; wherein the linking member includes a tensioning system arranged to extend or retract the linking member when the first window component and the second window component are moved relative to each other.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a retaining device for a window and a method for retaining a window, and particularly, but not exclusively, to a retaining device for securing a window panel to a window frame. Background technique [0002] A window may structurally include a rigid frame and transparent panels, such as glass panels, for light penetration. Most windows are designed to open or close to allow or prevent drafts through the window frame area. [0003] Windows typically include a window frame that is fixedly mounted to a structure such as an opening in a wall. One or more window panels are attached to the frame, the window panels being pivotally mounted to the window frame with hinges. These window hinges may degrade due to years of use or corrosion of their exterior elements and may have poorer mechanical strength than when they were originally manufactured. In some cases, these old hinges may not be able to support the weight of the wind...
