Embodiment Construction

[0033] The subject matter disclosed herein provides techniques for detecting, tracking, and analyzing individual nanoparticles of different sizes in liquid media using multispectral analysis. In some implementations, individual nanoparticles can range in size from about 10 nanometers to about 1 micron. These techniques illuminate nanoparticles suspended in a liquid sample and record the Brownian motion of individual nanoparticles. These records can be analyzed to determine the particle size distribution of the nanoparticles. The particle size distribution may represent the number of nanoparticles per unit volume of the sample within a particular size cell.

[0034] figure 1 An exemplary system 100 is shown for implementing the techniques disclosed herein. The light source 105 can generate multiple light beams for illuminating the nanoparticle liquid sample. Light source 105 may include one or more lasers, one or more light emitting diodes (LEDs), any combination thereof, ...

Abstract

The subject matter disclosed herein provides methods for detecting and analyzing individual nanoparticles of the same, similar, or different sizes that coexist in a fluid sample using multispectral analysis. Multiple light sources can be configured to generate multiple beams of light in different spectral bands. The optics may be configured to combine the plurality of light beams into one or more incident light sheets. Each incident light sheet can illuminate one or more nanoparticles in the liquid sample. The one or more image detectors can be configured to detect light scattered or emitted by the one or more nanoparticles using multiple wavelengths. The plurality of wavelengths corresponds to different spectral bands of the plurality of light beams. Related devices, systems, techniques and articles are also described.

Description
