Abstract

The invention discloses a SDN-based load balancing device and a method thereof. The load balancing device comprises a load balancing controller and a plurality of load balancing switches. The plurality of load balancing switches are connected to the load balancing controller through a base plane to establish an openflow channel, the load balancing controller is used for shunting decision and load monitoring. The load balancing switch parses and transmits or discards data traffic according to instructions issued by the load balancing controller. The SDN-based load balancing device shunts a control plane and a forwarding plane of the load balancing device so as to reduce the complexity of a load balancing system, improve the system maintainability, realize multi-device interconnection cascade, and reduce the development and production cost.
