Abstract

The invention provides an adaptive coordinate control method for an urban area traffic signal, wherein a plurality of control optimization algorithms with different characteristics are integrated. Through establishing a timing module, a signal timing parameter at an area intersection is optimized according to the actual condition of a traffic flow. No matter the mounting position of a traffic flow detector in a road segment, control technology can be reasonably selected according to a configuration position condition. The method is suitable for signal adaptive coordination control with different traffic states in the area. Based on traffic requirements of the intersection in a plurality of periods, for improving integral traffic operation efficiency of an area, a phase requirement of a single intersection is comprehensively analyzed. An area signal adaptive coordination control strategy is made. Furthermore overflow (deadlock) detection and phase different optimization are performed on the traffic flow of the road segment, thereby reducing un-stability and potential safety hazard of the traffic flow caused by a real-time adaptive system, improving area traffic operation condition, alleviating traffic jam and improving passing capability of the area traffic.
