The application provides a correction method and device for information verification. The method is applied to a server for information verification. The method comprises the steps of receiving information sent by a client; according to a preset verification database, verifying the information, and in a case that a verification result is that the information does not pass verification, calling a third-party data source outside the verification database; according to third-party data provided by the third-party data source, calculating a trustiness score of the information; and in a case that the trustiness score is greater than a preset threshold, modifying the verification result of the information into a result representing that the information passes verification. By applying the correction method and device provided by the embodiment of the application, improvement on accuracy of information verification can be implemented.
