Abstract

The invention discloses miRNA for diagnosing nasopharyngeal carcinoma. The obviously high expression of EBV-miR-BART8 in nasopharyngeal carcinoma tissues is found through experiments by the inventors, and the expression level of the EBV-miR-BART8 in the nasopharyngeal carcinoma tissues is 11 times the expression level of the EBV-miR-BART8 in non-cancer nasopharyngeal tissues. QPCR confirms that the EBV-miR-BART8 is obviously highly expressed in the nasopharyngeal carcinoma tissues, and the expression level is positively correlated with the TMN stage and the clinical stage of nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients, so it is suggested that the EBV-miR-BART8 may be an important regulation factor in the generation and the development of the nasopharyngeal carcinoma. Further studies show that a nasopharyngeal carcinoma cell strain which highly expresses the EBV-miR-BART8 has high invasion and metastasis ability, and the HONE1-EBV nasopharyngeal carcinoma cell metastasis ability is weakened after endogenous EBV-miR-BART8 expression is silenced. The EBV-miR-BART8 may promotes the EMT of nasopharyngeal carcinoma cells in order to make the nasopharyngeal carcinoma cells have strong invasion and metastasis ability. The EBV-miR-BART8 expression level of a patient can be detected to effectively assist the diagnosis of the NPC. The therapy of the NPC is hopeful to be assisted through down-regulating the expression level of the EBV-miR-BART8.
