Abstract

The embodiment of the invention discloses an array antenna and a beamforming method thereof. The array antenna comprises: at least two antenna units that are distributed in a column or at least two columns; at least two transceiver units divided into at least two transceiver unit groups, wherein the transceiver units in each transceiver unit group are connected with a part of antenna units which have the same polarization direction in the same column; and the transceiver units generate coarse beams corresponding to different sectors according to an analog beamforming vector, and pre-codes users in the same coarse beam.
