[0016] Depending on the configuration of the bulkhead, the pressure bulkhead of an aircraft, such as the aft pressure bulkhead, has certain requirements imposed on the structure. For example, dome-shaped diaphragms have load distribution benefits and lower structural weight than diaphragms of a flatter configuration. On the other hand, the flatter configuration of the plenum bulkhead generally requires a heavier construction and more complex support system, but allows aircraft systems to pass through the bulkhead structure more easily. The apparatus and methods described herein advantageously take advantage of the benefits of these various separator configurations.
