Abstract

The invention discloses a method for screening video programs and a remote controller. The method for screening the video programs comprises the steps of receiving storage program information by the remote controller, wherein the storage program information is sent by a program storage terminal; displaying the storage program information; obtaining a selection instruction generated by selecting the storage program information through a user; and sending the selection instruction to a playing terminal for playing of the screened programs. According to the method and the remote control server, the remote controller is used for receiving and displaying the storage program information sent by the program storage terminal in a wireless communication mode; a user can directly screen the programson the remote controller; the programs are screened, and moreover other programs are not prevented from being played by the playing terminal; after the user selects to-be-watched programs through theremote controller, the playing terminal is controlled by the remote controller to be directly switched from a current playing interface to the playing interface of the screened programs on the remotecontroller; and in the process of screening the programs by the user, the other programs can be normally browsed at the same time, so the user experience performance is improved.
