Abstract

A 5G or quasi-5G communication system is disclosed, which is provided to support a data transmission rate higher than that of a 4G communication system such as LTE. A method and apparatus for transmitting information in a communication system are disclosed. A method for allocating resources in a cellular network using an unlicensed frequency band comprising the steps of: generating at least one resource allocation signal comprising a plurality of consecutive uplink subframes indicating that communication over an unlicensed frequency band is possible information; transmit a resource allocation signal to a user equipment (UE) through an unlicensed frequency band for a duration of at least one downlink subframe; and receive uplink data from the UE for a duration of consecutive uplink subframes.
