Abstract

A method for determining long-term shear strength of a rock structural surface is provided. The method includes firstly preparing a rock structural surface sample; subjecting the sample to a shear creep indoor test to obtain a shear creep curve of the sample; determining a long-term shear strength range of the rock structural surface through a shear creep indoor test; building a shear creep modelof the sample according to the shear creep curve of the sample so as to obtain model parameters; building a numerical model of the sample according to the dimension of the sample and characteristics of the structural surface; and equally dividing the obtained long-term shear strength range into a plurality of parts as values of horizontal shear stress applied in a numerical test, and subjecting the sample to a shear creep numerical test to obtain an accurate value of the long-term shear strength of the rock structural surface.
