Abstract

Systems and methods for accessing portions of files at client devices are disclosed herein. One or more portions of the file are selected for download to the client device, where the file is stored on a web-based storage system in communication with the client device via a network. At least one of the selected one or more portions that is not stored on the client device is identified. A request is transmitted to the web-based storage system to download at least a portion of the identified file without user interaction, and the at least a portion of the identified file is downloaded to the client device via the network.
