The invention provides, in one aspect, a method of searching an RDF triples data store of the type in which the triples are maintained in accord with a first storage schema. The method includes inputting a first query specifying RDF triples that are to be identified in the data store. That first query assumes either (i) that the triples are stored in a schema-less manner (i.e., with no storage schema) or (ii) that the triples are maintained in accord with a second storage schema that differs from the first. The method further includes generating, from the first query, a second query that specifies those same RDF triples, yet, that reflects the first storage schema. That second query can be applied to the RDF triples data store in order to identify and / or retrieve the desired data.

Apparatus and method for producing purified water having microbiological purity

A process is provided to produce water that will meet the specifications of the United States Pharmacopeia Inc. for Purified Water and Water for Injection, and water for dialysis as circumscribed by the American Association for Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI). The system has no storage tanks where stagnant water will be fouled by biofilm colonizing the tank surface. Water is circulated throughout the purification system and drawn as required, on demand. The water is purified and used immediately or recycled and repurified to ensure quality. Sanitation of the purification system, maintaining microbiological purity and cleaning is done by controlling the pH so that it is normally acidic by maintaining a high carbon dioxide concentration in solution, the carbon dioxide being allowed to pass into the permeate from a reverse osmosis membrane assembly used to purify the water.

Method and system for on-line blind source separation

A method and apparatus is disclosed for performing blind source separation using convolutive signal decorrelation. For a first embodiment, the method accumulates a length of input signal (mixed signal) that includes a plurality of independent signals from independent signal sources. The invention then divides the length of input signal into a plurality of T-length periods (windows) and performs a discrete Fourier transform (DFT) on the, signal within each T-length period. Thereafter, estimated cross-correlation values are computed using a plurality of the averaged DFT values. A total number of K cross-correlation values are computed, where each of the K values is averaged over N of the T-length periods. Using the cross-correlation values, a gradient descent process computes the coefficients of a finite impulse response (FIR) filter that will effectively separate the source signals within the input signal. A second embodiment of the invention is directed to on-line processing of the input signal—i.e., processing the signal as soon as it arrives with no storage of the signal data. In particular, an on-line gradient algorithm is provided for application to non-stationary signals and having an adaptive step size in the frequency domain based on second derivatives of the cost function. The on-line separation methodology of this embodiment is characterized as multiple adaptive decorrelation.

In addition, the configuration also allows the number of charge-pump stages in an internal power-supply configuration to be changed in accordance with the level of a power-supply voltage so as to make the write-back operation correctly executable. As a result, no memory cells are put in deplete state even in the event of a power-supply cutoff in the course of a write or erase operation.

Efficient information management performed by a client in the absence of a storage manager

Systems and methods are disclosed for information management, which are performed substantially autonomously by a client in the absence of a storage manager connection, and which are also streamlined to operate efficiently when the storage manager connection is restored. The illustrative client, comprising specialized logic for operating autonomously, generates secondary copies of production data that are compatible with the information management system. The client stores the secondary copies to local fast-access primary storage technology. When connected to an appropriate media agent and to the storage manager, the client moves to efficiently offload the secondary data to a proper secondary storage subsystem. The client aggregates the locally-stored secondary copies into a consolidated data structure, which it transmits to the media agent in the form of a single job. The media agent may process the single job in accordance with governing information management policies, and reports status and metadata to the storage manager. Thus, the protected data is absorbed into the information management system completely and efficiently, with minimal drain on the processing resources of the client and the other components.
