Abstract

A vehicle having a pickup box includes a front wall, first and second side walls, and a tailgate forming a pickup box. A first slide member is mounted longitudinally to one of the first sidewall and the second sidewall, and the second slide member is configured for telescoping movement within the first slide member between a stowed position and an extended position. The first slide member is mounted such that at least a portion of the second slide member extends outside of the pickup truck bed in the extended position for easy access by a vehicle operator standing behind or near the tailgate. At least one hook is attached to or supported by the first slide member for supporting a grocery bag or the like. A handle is attached to an end of the first slide member for moving the slide member between a stowed position and an extended position, and a bumper is mounted to the second slide member to limit movement of the second slide member.
