Abstract

The present invention relates to an indoor base station and a PIFA antenna thereof. The PIFA antenna comprises a reflection floor, a feed network and a radiating element. The radiating element comprises a metal plate body, a feed part, an open-circuit branch and a short-circuit branch, wherein the metal plate body is provided with a feed end and a short-circuit end, and a hollow portion is formed on the metal plate body. The impedance bandwidth of the PIFA antenna is related to the distance between the reflection floor and the metal plate body, and the configurations of the open-circuit branch and the short-circuit branch are conducive to optimizing impedance matching; furthermore, the configuration of the hollow portion enables an electric current to form a meander on the metal plate body, so that a current path is elongated. Moreover, the short-circuit branch can form a loop between the short-circuit end and a feed end, so as to further extend a current path. Since the current path is extended, the signal frequency that the radiating element can receive and send also changes therewith, so that the working frequency band of the radiating element is reduced. It can be seen that the coverage frequency band of the PIFA antenna can be expanded while the volume thereof is reduced, and this is beneficial to the miniaturization of an indoor base station.
