Abstract

The present invention provides a random access method and device. The method is used for a station, and comprises the steps of: distributing assigned uplink carriers used when a terminal initiates anassigned type of random access for the terminal; generating carrier configuration information, wherein the carrier configuration information is configured to show the assigned type and the assigned uplink carrier; sending the carrier configuration information to the terminal to allow the terminal to initiate the assigned type of random access on the assigned uplink carrier when the terminal initiates the assigned type of random access. Therefore, the random access method and device can ensure that the different types of random access can initiate corresponding random access on the uplink carrier with good and stable signals so as to avoid high time delay caused by access failure of the random access and improve the success and the rate of the random access.
