Embodiment Construction

[0027] In the SDN of the present disclosure, the topology information of the multicast tree reflecting the current SDN topology will be stored in the memory of the SDN controller. Once a certain link or node fails in the SDN, some nodes in the SDN will be disconnected (hereinafter referred to as disconnected nodes), and can no longer receive data from the root node of the multicast. With the tree network restoration method provided in the present disclosure, at least one new link can be calculated by using the topology information stored in the memory of the SDN controller, so as to reconnect the lost node to the surviving node. In addition, the SDN controller will notify the nodes in the SDN that need to modify the settings according to the above calculation results. In this way, the failed SDN multicast tree can be recovered with high efficiency by using the disclosed technology.

Abstract

A tree recovery method for a software-defined network (SDN) adapted to an SDN controller is provided. The tree recovery method includes the following. Topology information is stored in a storage of the SDN controller, where the topology information is based on a tree topology established while the SDN is multicasting. Once the controller receives a failure message indicating a failure link of theSDN, a plurality of network nodes of the topology information are classified into at least one losing nodes and at least one remaining node according to the failure link. The at least one losing nodeare calculated and linked to the at least one remaining node by using the topology information stored in the storage, and the controller may command the network nodes according to the calculation result so as to recover the multicasting SDN.

Description

technical field [0001] The present disclosure relates to a method for restoring a tree network, and a method for restoring a tree network and a controller for a software-defined network (software-defined network, SDN). Background technique [0002] On the Internet, video and audio content, for example, uses multicast technology to share with desired group members through multicast. Generally speaking, the multicast technology is to share the aforementioned video and audio content with group members on the multicast network through the multicast address. Internet Group Management Protocol (IGMP) can be used to effectively manage and maintain group members in a multicast group. Specifically, under the network group management protocol, any group member will notify neighboring routers before joining or leaving a multicast group. [0003] Recently, software-defined networking has been developed. The technology of this kind of network transforms the traditional decentralized co...
