According to the method, the kinematic fragments are taken as basic units for the energy saving evaluation of drivers, and through recognizing the running condition types of the kinematic fragments, the influences, on the energy saving driving evaluation, of road traffic conditions can be lightened so that universality is provided. Meanwhile, the method is capable of automatically selecting energy saving degree evaluation models with best effect to generate energy saving grades according to the running condition types, so as to quantifying the energy saving driving levels of drivers more objectively and reasonably.
