Embodiment Construction

[0025] Certain terms are used throughout the specification and claims to refer to specific originals. Those skilled in the art can know that a manufacturer may refer to a component by different names. In this document the originals are not distinguished by name, but by function. In the following paragraphs as well as in the claims, the words "comprising" and "including" are used in open-ended expressions, and thus may be translated as "including but not limited to". Also, the word "coupled" refers to a direct or indirect electrical connection. Accordingly, if one device couples to another device, that connection may be through a direct electrical connection, through an indirect electrical connection, or through other devices and connections. The notations and their use in the disclosed embodiments are discussed below. However, the invention is to be understood in a specific context. The specific embodiments discussed are examples only, and do not limit the scope of the inv...

Abstract

Apparatus and methods are provided to detect radio link failure in a NR access system. In one novel aspect, the radio link failure is detected upon detection of one or more radio link failure conditions on the serving beam. In one embodiment, the physical layer problem is considered as detected when one or more predefined events occur for a number of consecutive times on the serving beam. In another embodiment, the UE further considers potential recoveries to avoid frequent triggering of the radio link failure condition. In one embodiment, the UE performs the initial alignment procedure to recover the connection. In one embodiment, UE performs the initial alignment procedure without performing radio link recovery on the serving beam. In one embodiment, UE performs the initial alignment procedure after performing radio link recovery on the serving beam. In another embodiment, the UE selects one or more beams for initial beam alignment; each satisfies one or more predefined criterion.

Description

technical field [0001] The disclosed embodiments relate generally to wireless communications, and more specifically to Radio Link Failure (RLF) detection in new radio access systems. Background technique [0002] Fifth generation (5G) radio access technology will be a key component of modern access networks. He can address high business growth and increased demand for high-bandwidth connections. It can also support a large number of connected devices and meet the high-reliability communication requirements of real-time, mission-sensitive applications. Consider standalone NR deployments and non-standalone NR with LTE / eLTE deployments. For example, the increasing demand for cellular data has aroused attention in high frequency (High Frequency, HF) communication systems. The available spectrum in the HF band is 200 times higher than in conventional cellular systems. The very small wavelength of HF enables a large number of tiny antennas to be placed in a small area. Micro-...
