Abstract

The invention provides a modular charging fault isolation system and method for an electric vehicle. The system comprises charging modules, an input isolation unit, an output isolation unit, a fault monitor and a charging controller, wherein input ends of the charging modules are connected with an AC power supply through the input isolation unit; output ends of the charging modules are connected with a DC bus through the output isolation unit; the fault monitor is connected to the DC bus and is used for monitoring the DC bus; and the charging controller is connected with the input isolation unit, the output isolation unit and the fault monitor and is used for monitoring whether a charger transmits a fault or not according to the fault monitor, detecting the charging modules through the fault monitor, the input isolation unit and the output isolation unit separately, detecting the failed charging modules and isolating the failed charging modules, thereby ensuring normal operation of thecharger, improving the reliability of the charger and solving the technical problem that the overall system cannot work when one part of modules fail in the modular charger.
