The invention relates to an analysis method and system for the power system cascading fault risk in the lightning disaster weather. The analysis method comprises the following steps: obtaining lightning information in three successive time periods according to a lightning monitoring and positioning system; identifying and dividing lightning zones, determining the center coordinates and the radiusof each lightning zone and determining the most likely moving paths of the lightning zones in different time periods; forecasting the number of lightning falls in the next time period and the information of each lightning zone; calculating the lightning trip-out probability of the line affected by the lightning disaster weather in the power system; simulating the cascading faults caused by the affected line; and calculating the risk of the cascading fault path and the cascading fault risk of the power system in the lightning disaster weather. The cascading fault risk of the power system in thelightning disaster weather can be warned in real time, and the method and the system can be used for analyzing and comparing the influence of different operation strategies or different constructionschemes on the power system risk in the lightning disaster weather.
