Embodiment
[0222] These examples are intended to illustrate the invention to those of ordinary skill in the art and should not be construed as limiting the scope of the invention described in the claims.
[0223] All measurements and experiments were performed at 23°C unless otherwise specified.
reference example 1
[0224] Reference Example 1: Synthesis of Allylamino Hydroxy by Amination with Bis(2-Hydroxypropyl)amine
[0225] Bis(2-hydroxypropyl)amine (DIPA) ( 79.17g) and isopropanol (37.29g) were heated to 5OC. Allyl glycidyl ether (70 g) was added dropwise to the reaction and the amination reaction was carried out at 70°C overnight (15 hours) to ensure complete consumption of DIPA. The reaction device is improved to a simple distillation device. Isopropanol and excess allyl glycidyl ether were removed from the product by vacuum stripping at 120°C and 20 mmHg for 3 hours. The sample was cooled to below 70°C before the vacuum was broken with nitrogen, and then the product was decanted into a glass jar after cooling.
Embodiment 2
[0226] Example 2: Hydrosilylation to (diisopropanolamine) terminated 400 degree of polymerization (DP) DIPA
[0227] A three-necked round-bottomed flask equipped with a reflux condenser, nitrogen purge, stirrer, temperature controller with thermocouple, and heating mantle was charged with the material prepared in Reference Example 1 (1.72% by weight) and a SiH seal. Terminated siloxane (14.24% by weight) with a SiH concentration of 1600 ppm (20DP) as determined by FT-IR. The flask was heated to 70°C and 1% Karstedt's catalyst in isopropanol (IPA) (5 ppm Pt) was added as catalyst. The reaction temperature was maintained at 70 °C for one hour until [SiH] reached 1000 ppm to 1100 ppm. Allyl terminated siloxane (84.04% by weight; 179 Dp) was then added to the reaction with 1% Karstedt's catalyst in IPA (5 ppm Pt). The reaction was maintained at 70°C for 2 hours. The reaction was determined to be complete ([SiH] < 10 ppm) using FT-IR analysis. The viscosity of the final produ...
