Abstract

The invention discloses a sagnac magnetic field sensor with a microstructure fiber, comprising: a broadband light source BBS, a 3dB coupler, a polarization controller PC, a microstructure fiber PCF, an electromagnet and a power supply thereof, and a spectrometer OSA. The broadband light source BBS outputs a laser to the 3dB coupler; the 3dB coupler divides the laser output from the broadband source BBS into two linearly polarized lights propagating in a clockwise direction and a counterclockwise direction. The polarization controller PC rotates the polarization directions of the two linearly polarized lights by 90 degrees. The microstructure fiber PCF is provided with electromagnets powered by a power source on both sides. The magnetic field generated by the electromagnet make the magneticmoment of the magnetic particles in the magnetic fluid orient the direction of the magnetic field, so that two beams of light propagating in a clockwise and counterclockwise direction are interfere at the output end of the 3dB coupler. Spectrometer OSA measures the interference spectrum of the 3dB coupler output. The sagnac magnetic field sensor with microstructure fiber obtains the strength anddirection of the magnetic field by measuring the wavelength of the wave of the interference spectrum.
