Raw materials of the carbon fiber surface sizing agent comprise 100 parts by weight of furan group-containing polyester and 5-20 parts by weight of furan group-containing epoxy compounds. Raw materials of the carbon fiber surface sizing agent further comprise one or a combination of 5-25 parts by weight of polyethylene glycol diglycidyl ether and polypropylene glycol diglycidyl ether. Raw materials of the carbon fiber surface sizing agent further comprise 5-20 parts by weight of a metal oxide powder having a particle diameter of less than 100 nm. The sizing agent provided by the present invention contains furan group-containing polyester which is a liquid at normal temperature. Therefore, there is no need to use an organic solvent or water, the pollution to the environment from the treatment of the organic solvents or waste water is reduced, and costs are saved. The furan group in the sizing agent provided by the present invention may raise the thermal conductivity of resin, carbon fiber still has good thermal conductivity after sizing, and the sizing agent may be used as a heat conductive material.
