A representative unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) apparatus includes an airframe (110), a plurality of spherical motors(120) carried by the airframe(110), and a plurality of rotatable propellers(163), with individual propellers(163) carried by corresponding individual spherical motors(120). Thespherical motors (120) can include a spherical or partially spherical rotor(126) supported relative to the airframe (110) with multiple stators(122). The spherical motors (120) can be used to tilt thepropeller shafts without tilting the airframe of the UAV.
