According to the method, information of street crossing students is detected according to an RFID reader mounted in a campus gate area so as to give a corresponding signal lamp control method, so that functions of automatically controlling a signal lamp at the campus gate and carrying out attendance checking on the students so as to send notification information to the parents are realized. If the arrival of the students cannot be sensed in a certain time, asystem judges whether the students need to cross the street or not according to a preset logic, so that the traffic state of the road section does not need signal control and a signal controller automatically turns to a dormant state, thereby not generating meaningless traffic delay by vehicles on the road and ensuring the normal passing ability of the road.
