Abstract

The invention provides a polaroid and a liquid crystal display device. The polaroid includes a polarizing layer including a plurality of polarizing units arranged in sequence on the same plane. Amongthe plurality of polarizing units, at least two polarizing units have different polarization directions, so that light is polarized through the polaroid and then emits polarized light with at least two kinds of polarization directions. Therefore, a problem of the eyestrain caused by the single polarization direction of the emitted light and a problem of a large view-angle colour cast of the liquidcrystal display device are solved.
