[0055] The preferred embodiment relates to a pedestrian-specific phase setting method at two-phase signal-controlled intersections. The method is based on human-vehicle interaction behavior. In two-phase signalized intersections, usually right-turning vehicles are not controlled by signals. When pedestrians pass, vehicles turning left will pass at the same time. Pedestrians will continue to interact with turning vehicles during the passage of the green light phase. Each entrance has 3 pedestrian-vehicle interaction areas. Taking the intersection of four entrances as an example, there are a total of 12 human-vehicle interaction areas. For details, see figure 1 . Different types of human-vehicle interaction behaviors will be generated in each human-vehicle interaction area.

Abstract

The method determines whether the special pedestrian phase is set at the intersection based on total delay of traffic participants. According to the special phase setting method disclosed by the invention, the pedestrians and motor vehicles can pass through the intersections under the condition that the per capita possession of road space-time resources is relatively fair while the passing efficiency is ensured, so that the efficiency and the fairness of the pedestrians andvehicles passing through the intersections are ensured.
