The humidifier comprises a housing, humidifying units, timers and controllers; the humidifying units compriseworking containers, steam generation pieces and drainage valves; the working containers are provided with drainage outlets and air outlets; the steam generation pieces are used for making water in theworking containers into steam; the drainage valves are used for controlling opening and closing of the drainage outlets; the timers are used for timing the stopped state of the steam generation pieces; the controllers are correspondingly and electrically connected with the steam generation pieces, the drainage valves and the timers; and the controllers control the drainage valves to be opened after the controllers detect that the humidifying units at least meet the following conditions that the drainage valves are in the closed state currently, the total accumulated stopped time of the steamgeneration pieces is at least first setting time T1, and the current closed state of the steam generation pieces at least lasts for second setting time T2.
