Problems solved by technology

However, in order to take these pictures and thus to analyze them, a considerable outlay is necessary in terms of materials and personnel
Furthermore, pictures can only be taken when the furnace lid of the electric furnace is open, and thus only at certain points in time during the operation of the electric furnace, and thus the method is limited in its flexibility with regard to possible time intervals of consumption measurements
In addition, using this method, a sufficiently accurate evaluation of electrode consumption cannot be obtained

Embodiment Construction

[0045] figure 1 Illustrated is a system comprising an electric arc furnace 10 which receives as raw material eg steel scrap and optionally further additives, in which the raw material is melted by the thermal energy of an electric arc emitted in the electric arc furnace 10 .

[0046] To start the arc, the system has: a bottom electrode ( figure 1 not shown in ), the bottom electrode is arranged in the electric arc furnace 10 and is in direct electrical contact with the raw material of the electric arc furnace 10; and the electrode column 12 is composed of a plurality of elongated graphite electrodes 14, the plurality of Elongated graphite electrodes 14 are screwed together via threaded joints 16 at their respective longitudinal ends. In practice, a plurality, in particular three, of electrode columns 12 arranged parallel to each other can be used, for clarity only in figure 1 One electrode column 12 is shown in , in particular the bottom electrode is omitted.

Abstract

The present invention relates to a method for determining the consumption of electrode material during the operation of an electric furnace, particularly an arc furnace for producing steel, wherein the method comprises determining the weight of at least one electrode column arranged on or leading into the furnace by using a weighing device. The present invention further relates to a device for determining the consumption of electrode material of an electric furnace, particularly an arc furnace for producing steel, wherein the device comprises a weighing device for determining the weight of at least one electrode column arranged on or leading into the furnace, wherein the weighing device is integrated into an operating device of a system comprising an electric furnace. Vibration conditions of an electrode column during operation of an electric furnace can also be determined with the method according to the invention and the device according to the invention.

Description

[0001] Instructions for Divisional Application [0002] This application is a divisional application of a Chinese invention patent application with a filing date of May 22, 2013, an application number of 201380030745.6, and an invention title of "Method and Device for Determining Consumption of Electrode Materials During Electric Furnace Operation". technical field [0003] The invention relates to a method and a device for determining the consumption of electrode material during the operation of an electric furnace, in particular an electric arc furnace for the production of steel. Background technique [0004] Electric furnaces, and in particular electric arc furnaces, are used to heat and melt raw materials, which can include, among other things, steel and other metals as well as various additives. In the process, electric arc furnaces can in particular be used to produce and recycle steel and other metals by melting scrap, especially scrap metal such as steel scrap. [...
