Abstract

The invention provides a method for converting mold carved characters into editable texts. The method comprises a lettering surface extraction step, a unique lettering character recognition step, a lettering character direction determination step and an editable text output step. In the process of converting mold carved characters into editable texts, a unique carved character of an underline is identified. Then, a coordinate axis is established on the basis of the underline. The character direction of the carved character is determined according to the coordinate axis; and then similarity comparison is carried out on the contour feature data of each carved character and the contour feature data of the standard characters in the matrix library in sequence, and finally, the standard character with the highest similarity with each carved character is extracted from the matrix library to serve as an editable text to be output, so that the accuracy of converting the carved characters intothe editable text is high.
