The double-stage compressor comprises a low pressure stage and ahigh pressure stage connected with the low pressure stage in series. The double-stage compressor also comprises a volume ratio adjusting mechanism which is arranged on the high pressure stage and is used for changing the volume ratio of the high pressure stage on refrigerant compression. By application of the technical scheme of the invention, when the compression ending pressure of the compressoris less than the discharge pressure, the volume ratio adjusting mechanism is operated to increase the volume ratio of the high pressure stage on the refrigerant compression, so that the compression ending pressure of the compressor is equal to the discharge pressure; when the compression ending pressure of the compressor is more than the discharge pressure, the volume ratio adjusting mechanism isoperated to reduce the volume ratio of the high pressure stage on the refrigerant compression, so that the compression ending pressure of the compressor is equal to the discharge pressure; therefore,the conditions of overcompression and under-compression are improved, the change of external conditions is adapted, the energy efficiency of the compressor is improved and the noise of the compressoris reduced.
