Abstract

The method comprises the following steps: defining an OLT (Optical Line Terminal) and an ONU (Optical Network Unit) as a 1588V2 boundary clock BC; the OLT synchronizes with the upstream network element through a Slave port, and distributes time to the ONU equipment through a Master port; the ONU receives a time signal transmitted by the OLT through the Slave port and sends time to the base station through the Master port; and a PTP protocol of 1588V2 is transparently borne between the OLT and the ONU by utilizing a GEM frame. The invention provides a method for bearing a high-precision clock by using a GPON (Gigabit Passive Optical Network). The method comprises the following steps: enabling base station synchronization to reach tens of ns-level time synchronization; and the PTP message is transmitted by using the synchronous GEM frame, so that the high-precision synchronization of the GPON network transmission process is ensured in mechanism, Meanwhile, the system networking cost and the installation and maintenance difficulties caused by a GPS mode are avoided.
