Embodiments of the invention disclose a desktop wallpaper display method and device, and a computer readable storage medium, which are used for solving the problem of excessive occupation of the running memory of terminal equipment, and the method comprises the steps of receiving a first display instruction input by a user and used for displaying wallpaper, the first display instruction carrying an identifier of a video material; obtaining a corresponding video material according to the identifier, wherein the video material comprises a plurality of videos and a position relationship among theplurality of videos, the plurality of videos are partial videos in different display areas in a first video, and the display areas corresponding to the plurality of videos are partial display areas in the display area of the first video; and displaying the plurality of videos in a to-be-displayed area according to the position relationship. By implementing the embodiment of the invention, the file size of the video material can be greatly reduced, and the occupied running memory of the terminal equipment is reduced.
