Abstract

When a winding core provided in a coil component is configured from a sintered body of a magnetic powder, the mechanical strength of the winding core decreases with the development of miniaturizationof the coil component, and in particular, breakage is likely to occur at a connection portion where the winding core is connected to a flange portion. The coil component (21) is provided with: a winding core (23) having a coiling core part (22), a first flange part (24), and a second flange part (25); and a plate-shaped core part (26) having a main surface (27) facing the coiling core part, the first flange part, and the second flange part, the plate-shaped core part (26) being fixed to the winding core via an adhesive (28) in a state of being bridged between the first flange part and the second flange part; in the coil component, the first flange part and the second flange part each have a top surface (29A, 29B) facing the main surface of the plate-shaped core part, and recesses (43A, 43B) are provided in the top surfaces. Furthermore, the protrusions (44A, 44B) may be provided in part of the region in which the recesses are provided.
