Abstract

The invention relates to a double gripper (1) for gripping and handling cable ends of two cables (8, 9) of a wire harness (13), in particular a twisted wire harness (13), for configuring a fitting station of a plug housing. The double gripper has two gripper jaws (2, 3), each of which has two jaw elements (4, 4', 5, 5') arranged one above the other. The double gripper (1) further comprises two engagement members (11) arranged between the jaw elements (4, 4', 5, 5'). The cables (8, 9) can be biased from inside in a supported manner by means of the engagement members. The engagement members (11)can be moved independently of the gripper jaws (2, 3). The distance (H) between the cables (8, 9) can be changed by inserting the engagement members (11) between the cables (8, 9) or by retracting the engagement members. The respective engagement member (11) is a wedge (21, 22) having at least one effective wedge surface (25, 25', 26, 26').
