The method comprises the steps of collecting running state information and vehicle position information in a vehicle running process; collecting driving behavior characteristic parameters of a driver of the vehicle, and calculating an aggressive degree of a driving style of the driver according to a driving speed, a mean value of an acceleration change rate absolute value and a mean value variable of a steering wheel rotating speed; establishing a vehicle dynamics model; simulating thebehavior of the driver for predicting a path, and predicting the vehicle behavior in a next time period; constructing a cost function to quantify a lateral deviation between an optimal path and the future behavior of the vehicle; and solving a steering wheel angle control quantity of the vehicle by minimizing the cost function, and making the steering wheel angle control quantity act on a steering system of the vehicle to assist the driver in driving the vehicle.
