The automatic speed limiting method comprises the following steps of: obtaining slope of a road by a sensor module, obtaining a maximum allowable speed of the slope by an ACC function control module, and comparing a real-time travelling speed while an intelligent vehicle reaches a critical state with the maximum allowable speed; enabling the vehicle to drive up according to normal speed while the real-timetraveling speed is smaller than or equal to the maximum allowable speed; and while the real-time traveling speed is greater than the maximum allowable speed, obtaining deceleration of the intelligentvehicle by the ACC function control module, and controlling a motor and a brake pedal to realize deceleration of the intelligent vehicle.
