Abstract

The present invention is a vehicular door outer handle device configured so that when a handle base to which a handle lever has been assembled, the handle lever being in a state of engagement and connection with a connecting arm section of an outer handle, is assembled with a vehicular door, the vehicular door outer handle device allows insertion of the handle lever into an opening section of thevehicular door when the handle lever is in an active position, wherein the handle lever is maintained securely in a state of being retained in the active position so that the handle lever is in the active position. A return spring 35, which has caused a first engagement section 35b to contact and engage with the handle lever 36, is mounted on the handle lever 36 so as to switch between: a state inwhich a second engagement section 35c is not engaged with a handle base 25 in a provisional retention state in which a connecting arm section 16 has been put in a door-opening operation position whenthe handle base 25 is being assembled with the vehicular door; and a state in which, after assembly of the handle base 25 with the vehicular door is complete, the second engagement section 35c is caused to contact and engage with the handle base 25.
