Embodiment Construction

[0024] With particular reference to these figures, reference numeral 1 generally shows a cannula for vascular drainage.

[0025] The cannula 1 comprises a tubular body 2 provided with a first end 2a and a second end 2b, the second end 2b being intended to be inserted into a blood vessel of a patient and having a tube extending between the ends 2a and 2b. at least one of the main channels3.

[0026] More specifically, the first end portion 2a and the second end portion 2b respectively define at least one first opening 4 and at least one second opening 5 for blood flow, wherein the first opening 4 and the second opening 5 pass through the main channel 3 connected to each other.

[0027] The tubular body 2 is movable between a home configuration and at least one extended configuration for insertion into or removal from a patient, wherein the diameter of the main channel 3 is reduced relative to the home configuration.

[0028] Specifically, the movement of the tubular body 2 fr...

Abstract

The cannula (1) for the drainage of blood vessels comprises: a tubular body (2) provided with a first end (2a) and with a second end (2b), the latter being intended to be inserted inside a blood vessel of a patient, and provided with at least one main channel (3) extending between the ends (2a, 2b), the tubular body (2) being movable between a home configuration and an extended configuration, in which the diameter of said main channel (3) is reduced with respect to the home configuration to allow it to be inserted into a patient's body; elastic means (6) associated with said tubular body (2) and adapted to counteract the displacement from the home configuration to the extended configuration; pressure detection means (7) for detecting the pressure inside the blood vessel which are associated with the tubular body (2); wherein the pressure detection means (7) comprise at least one pressure sensor (8) associated with the tubular body (2) in the proximity of the second end (2b), and wherein the pressure sensor (8) is arranged inside the main channel (3).

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to cannulas for vascular drainage. Background technique [0002] By far, the use of vascular drainage catheters in extracorporeal circulation (ECC) is very common. [0003] Cannulae can be of the venous or arterial type, depending on whether they are used to drain venous or arterial blood to carry blood from the patient to the extracorporeal circuit and from the extracorporeal circuit to the patient, respectively. [0004] Cannulas are also used in various types of surgery, such as laparoscopy, endoscopy, and arthroscopy, to aspirate fluid or to irrigate fluid. [0005] However, the known type of cannula does have some disadvantages. [0006] In particular, medical personnel do not have any indication of their correct positioning. [0007] It is known, in fact, that, depending on the position of the cannula in the relevant vessel, its drainage capacity and, therefore, the rate of blood flow to the various devices of the...
