Abstract

A method of deriving and applying a computerized numerical control global offset includes: measuring features of a machined part using a coordinate measuring machine (CMM); programming a first processor within the CMM to receive the size of the feature and output a computer numerical control (CNC) offset; and forwarding the CNC offset from the CMM to the CNC machining system to correct operation of the CNC machining system.
