Embodiment Construction
[0023] The present invention relates to measuring the flow rate of a fluid flowing in a pipe by means of an electromagnetic flowmeter installed downstream of a bend in the pipe. Typically, an electromagnetic flowmeter consists of a conduit covered with a liner / bushing or fluid-carrying insulating tube, with two solenoid coils on the top and bottom of the insulating tube or bushing, and one inserted into the side of the bushing. The counter electrode is used for measurement, and the magnetic cover encloses all elements containing the generated magnetic field and ensures a stronger magnetic field for interaction with the fluid. When the coil is energized, an electromotive force (EMF) is induced within the fluid. By measuring this EMF using electrodes, the flow rate is estimated. EMF divided by velocity is the calibration factor for a given flowmeter. Calibration factors are obtained under ideal laboratory conditions using a straight section of pipe upstream of the flowmeter. ...
