Abstract

The invention provides a hole plug which can cope with thickness change of a component and can restrain sloshing and be stably installed in an opening in a state that the hole plug is temporarily fixed in the opening. The hole plug (10) is provided with a main body part (20), and the main body part (20) is provided with a cover flange part (21) which covers the opening (5); an insertion part (25) inserted into the opening (5); and an engagement part (30) that engages with the back-side peripheral edge of the opening (5). A heat-softening resin member (50) that is affixed to the rear-side peripheral edge of the cover flange section (21) and that is heated and melted to affix the cover flange section (21) to the member (1), the heat-softening resin member (50) having an extension section (60) that extends obliquely outward toward the member (1), and the heat-softening resin member (50) being fixed to the rear-side peripheral edge of the opening (5) in a state in which the engagement section (30) is engaged with the rear-side peripheral edge of the opening (5) and the heat-softening resin member (50) is melted before the heat-softening resin member (50) is melted. The extension section (60) elastically abuts against the surface side of the component (1).
