Abstract

The invention provides monitoring equipment and a monitoring method. The monitoring equipment comprises a laser transceiver, an optical fiber and N optical path pools; the optical fiber is used for connecting the N optical path pools in series, then the first ends of the optical path pools are connected with the transmitting end of the laser transceiver, the second ends of the optical path pools are connected with the receiving end of the laser transceiver, and the N optical path pools are installed on N monitoring points of a monitoring pipeline or other positions needing to be monitored in a one-to-one correspondence mode. The laser transceiver is used for emitting a first laser signal which can be absorbed by monitored gas, the optical path pools are used for capturing the monitored gas leaked from a monitoring point, and the laser transceiver is further used for receiving a second laser signal returned after passing through the optical fiber and the N optical path pools and judging whether gas leakage exists or not according to the first laser signal and the second laser signal. According to the invention, the harmful gas around a plurality of monitoring points is detected through one group of detection equipment, the overall gas leakage condition in a large-range area can be quickly known, and the harmful gas leakage monitoring efficiency is improved.
