Abstract

The disclosed invention provides an electrical connector comprising a non-conductive housing, an electrical contact, and a flange. The non-conductive housing has spaced apart openings in a front face thereof that are configured to receive respective spaced apart members of the electrical plug. The electrical contact includes a contact clip disposed in the spaced-apart openings and configured to receive spaced-apart members of a corresponding electrical plug; and contact members extending beyond the non-conductive housing and spaced apart independently of a pitch of the spaced apart members of the electrical plug received in the spaced apart openings. The flange has a predetermined shape, outlines the contour of the non-conductive housing, and is configured to be inserted into a standardized socket of a corresponding shape.
