The invention discloses a river channel extraction method and device and a computer readable storage medium, and belongs to the technical field of image processing. The method comprises the following steps: intercepting a target image comprising a river channel region; performing binarization processing on the target image to obtain a binary target image; obtaining riverway edge pixel points of a riverway region in the binary target image; calculating geographic coordinates of riverway edge pixel points; obtaining river channel scatter point data; and generating a two-dimensional river channel model of the river channel region. According to the riverway extraction method provided by the embodiment of the invention, the riverway edge pixel points of the riverway region are firstly obtained based on the edge detection algorithm, then the riverway edge pixel points are smoothed to obtain the riverway scatter data, and then the two-dimensional riverway model is generated according to the riverway scatter data.
